Ever since X-Golf first came to the U.S., the buzz has been spreading like wildfire. We currently have over 20 locations in the states and that number only continues to grow. And there is a good reason that we are becoming so popular. We know that every golfer would like to golf year-round, but the fact of the matter is, the weather does not always cooperate. Not too long ago, you had no other options on a snowy or rainy day except to think about the last round you played or possibly swing an invisible club in your living room. Sure, virtual golf has been around for a few years but most golfers found the simulators to lack accuracy. Not at X-Golf. Our golf simulators use state-of-the-art technology including lasers and high-speed cameras to provide golfers with the best experience possible.

With word getting out, we caught the attention of Forbes Magazine and were recently featured in an article! In this blog post, we’ll discuss a few of the highlights from that piece but if you would like to read it in its entirety then be sure to click here! “Golfer’s Haven in the Middle of Winter”

If you have ever been in Detroit during the middle of February, then you probably aren’t thinking about rays of sunshine. Like Pittsburgh, it gets cold! But that is where Forbes contributor Scott Kramer found himself, and being an avid golfer and unable to play outside, he decided to give our Detroit location a try with his sister and a friend of his. The first thing that the group noticed was that there were five bays in the main room as well as two private bays, a full-service bar, and a plethora of big-screen TVs. No matter what location of ours that you visit, this is the typical set-up. While we are fanatics about golf, we also understand that not everyone is a golfer so we make sure to have an environment that appeals to everyone from experienced golfers to those that have never even picked up a club.

After getting acquainted with our golf simulators and how they work, Scott’s crew did what we all do before teeing off, they checked out the range! Immediately, the group was impressed with the instantaneous reaction to the ball flight and, knowing his swing and abilities thoroughly, Mr. Kramer could tell that it was accurate.

Once they were warmed up, they decided to play on one of the most famous courses in the world, Pebble Beach. Since Scott and his friend are pretty experienced golfers, they played the tips, but his sister played the forward tees because she was only a beginner. This is one of the best aspects of our virtual golf, anyone can play at their own pace and their own skill level. Having played other golf simulators in the past, our automatic tee and the ball-feeding system was something he had never seen before. The player doesn’t even have to bend down to tee up their ball at any point!

Another highlight was the accuracy that our simulators have when it comes to chipping and putting. This is usually pretty iffy at other virtual golf centers, but not at X-Golf! As a quick tip before you come to visit us, remember that the screen represents a 16-foot putt from you, so shorter puts should not hit the screen.

At the end of the article, you can tell that Scott and his crew had a great time and considers X-Golf a great option when the weather outside is bad and you have an urge to work on your game and get some swings in.
